How to Write SEO Friendly Blog Posts for Online Business Success

Writing a blog post for SEO

Do you want to write SEO Friendly Blog Posts? This article will help you generate more traffic to your company website by posting blogs. I’ll give you six steps to follow that will create more opportunities to rank in search engines which will lead to more clicks.

Frist of all, what is a SEO friendly blog post?

Simply put it’s a blog post that is optimized for search engines. The idea is to help boost your SEO rankings on Google, Yahoo or Bing by positioning relevant information to your customers or audience.

Before you start writing your blog set some goals.

Based on your online business goals: Do you want your posts to improve brand awareness? Get more engagement from customers or clients? Build trust and loyalty? Generate sales leads or sign up for services? Maybe all of the above. The key is your blogging goals should help you achieve some of your online business objectives.

Follow these 6 steps to start writing like a blogging pro.

1) Start by planning: Set up a yearly content calendar

A content calendar (editorial calendar) is a list of topics for your posts and a schedule of when you’ll publish them. Content calendars typically include upcoming topics and social media marketing strategies. I recommend using a visual calendar to plan out your posts.

Planning your blog content in advance will help you publish better content and archive the business goals you’ve set.

2) Consider your target audience

I recommend getting to know your target audience, so you can write content that peaks their interests and engages them into reading your post. This knowledge allows you to create better content that targets their pains, needs and wants which ultimately will drive better SEO results (aka clicks, traffic and conversions).

Ask yourself what questions and answers are they looking for online? How can you as an expert in your chosen subject or industry help them?

3) What are the keywords your audience uses in their searches

This gets a bit more technical, but doing keyword research helps you write blog posts that are SEO Friendly. Figuring out the keywords your audience uses when they’re looking for a product or service you offer is key to showing up in search results.

Doing keyword research or setting up a keyword strategy I would recommend using a online Keyword Tool.

4) Fresh Content is King!

A frequently updated blog is a great tool for adding fresh content on your site which in turn equals better search rankings. Search engine bots will see that new content is being added and be more likely to keep visiting your site.

Tip: You can even refresh or update old blogs as new. More importantly blogging regularly will help you build trust and authority within your industry or topic(s). Google shows it’s results based on trust and what is called Niche Authority. Read more: Tips and Suggestions for Website Content

Niche Authority is the concept that you or your site is an established expert or authority over an entire topic.

5) Link to other pages or articles on your site when possible

Linking internally to other pages on your website helps search engines understand the relevancy of the content. If you’ve written about a topic that’s mentioned in your blog post on another blog post or web page link it. Search engines and crawl bots don’t like dead-end articles.

Even adding relevant external links add SEO value and can give your audience more knowledge on a topic or subject. Furthermore, think about creating natural links from your article or topic.

6) Share your blog posts to social media

Now that you have the perfect blog post make sure your sharing them to all your social media channels. Don’t forget to add a featured image or artwork.
