Who you work with matters

Minneapolis Web Design, Led by Experience

I’m Corey Gasman, founder and principal of Gasman Design. For more than 25 years, I’ve helped organizations use design to build trust, improve clarity, and support growth. My background includes leadership roles like Creative Director, bringing agency-level thinking and experience into every project.

If you’re looking for a freelance web designer in Minneapolis, the difference here is simple: you work directly with me from strategy through launch. There are no account managers, no handoffs, and no disconnect between planning and execution.

Minneapolis Web Designer, Corey Gasman

My background in art and photography shapes how I approach layout, brand, and visual storytelling.

Today, I work directly with clients to plan, design, and build fast, search-friendly WordPress websites that support credibility, clarity, and real business goals. No account managers, no junior handoffs, and no layers between strategy and execution.

More Than a Web Designer

Before founding Gasman Design, I spent six years as Lead Graphic Designer for the Minnesota Timberwolves, producing high-profile marketing materials, sponsorship assets, and brand campaigns for a wide broadcast and in-arena audience.

I later served as Creative Director at Touchpoint Media for nine years, leading the design and production of more than 50 magazine issues each year. This included national publications for USA Hockey and USA Cycling, plus regional titles like Minnesota Golfer.

That background shaped how I approach web design today, with a deep understanding of branding, storytelling, layout, and audience behavior.

Strategy, Not Templates

Every project starts with understanding your business, your audience, and how people actually use your site. From there, I design a structure that makes your content clearer, your navigation easier, and your business easier to understand.

Why Clients Choose to Work With Me

Many businesses consider hiring an agency or working with a freelance web designer. In my experience, the difference comes down to communication, accountability, and clarity.

  • Direct collaboration: You work directly with me, not through layers of project managers.
  • Senior-level thinking: Every decision is guided by experience, not delegated to junior designers.
  • Clear communication: Fewer moving parts means faster decisions and fewer misunderstandings.
  • Focused execution: Strategy and design stay aligned from start to finish.

This tends to work best for businesses that want a straightforward process, clear communication, and a website that simply works.

Experience Across Industries

Over the years, I’ve partnered with or worked on projects for Target, 3M, UnitedHealthcare, Pepsi, Miller Brewing Company, Dell, Intel, the University of Minnesota, and numerous Twin Cities businesses and nonprofits.

WordPress Expertise Since 2009

Since 2009, I’ve specialized in building and maintaining high-performance WordPress websites across industries. My work blends visual polish, SEO fundamentals, performance optimization, and practical content structure, built for real-world use and easy updates.

My Inspiration

When I step away from the keyboard, you’ll likely find me documenting global food and street culture with my wife, Melissa, or shooting photography for my travel site, The Local Guide Abroad. That perspective carries into my work, helping me design websites that feel clear, approachable, and grounded in the real world.

My photography on Google Maps has now received more than 9.5 million views, and exploring new places continues to shape how I think about design, usability, and visual storytelling.

Cheers,
Corey

“Corey was easy to work with, had a smooth process, filling out a discovery sheet, having a meeting to discuss more details, answered questions via email and gave us step by step instructions to help us with anything that was outside of the brief.”
