Five Steps for better SEO by Gasman Design
1. CSS: You want to make it easy for search engines to extract the most relevant keywords and other information from your pages. With CSS, you can put your layout-related code into the stylesheet and take it out of your HTML. All your links and button can be searchable.
3. Page Titles: A page title is the text that’s shown at the top of your browser window AND the title of the page that’s shown in search results. Page titles tell your visitors what your page is about. For search engine optimization (SEO), keep your page titles concise but informative. Search engines and browsers cut off your page title if it’s too long, so it’s good to keep it fewer than 70 characters. Also, if your page title is too long, it weakens the importance of each keyword in the title and hinders your site’s ranking on those keywords.
4. Meta Descriptions and tags: The meta description is the text under a page title in search results. Like page titles, meta descriptions will get cut off and replaced by "..." if they are too long. Create a meta description for your page that adds detail to your page title, but is less than 150 characters. Add tags for more keywords and to link to other parts of your website.
5. Page Title Keywords: We know that a primary aspect of search engine ranking is how closely the title of a page matches the words people use when they search. Stay away from words that people don’t actually use when searching or relevant keywords. Use Google Keywords tool to find good keywords that people search for.
